I've been lax in my blogging. No excuse really. I know that we're all busy. Over the weekend, I tried not to spend the entire time in front of the TV catching up on my recorded shows or in front of the computer because we had absolutely fabulous weather here. I spent Saturday in my yard in my flower beds and then washing and polishing my Jeep. It looks especially great right now - inside and out.
Then Sunday, I worked more on the Jeep and then just sat out in the sun (with a cold beer, of course) observing my accomplishments in the yard and with the Jeep and just thoroughly enjoyed the weather. It was perfect. Then my youngest son, Adam, called and asked what I was doing for dinner. Well. . .he and his girlfriend offered to make me dinner. (What a pleasant surprise!!!!) They came over to my house, brought all of the ingredients and made dinner for me. She made shrimp scampi and angel hair pasta and it was absolutely delicious!!! I didn't even know she could cook. I was impressed. (This girl hasn't given me a lot of reason to be impressed before. She brings issues. I.S.S.U.E.S!) She used real garlic, all fresh ingredients. Shocking really. Then Adam asked if I had the ingredients necessary to make my homemade brownies - his absolute FAVORITE brownie in the world. It's one of the only things that he'll actually make himself. Anyway, I did, so he made the brownies for dessert. I just sat and watched the two of them and chatted. It was fun being taken care of - different - but fun. Oh! and Adam cleaned up the kitchen!

While we were sitting around waiting for the brownies to cool after dinner, we went through boxes of pictures I've got (awaiting scrapbooking) and walked down memory lane. It was fun!!! Adam was so precious when he was little - just the cutest thing. See. . . even pouting, he was precious!

We also found a picture of his current boss that was taken about 15 years ago when he was much younger. . . . and much thinner. (His wife and I used to be friends in my old neighborhood) So Adam took the picture to work and showed it to his boss. It was so funny because his boss didn't even recognize HIMSELF. When he got it that it was HIM, he laughed, asked how I was and invited us over for dinner sometime. I haven't seen these people in a very long time. (But there's a reason. . . his wife is a . . . well. . . not nice) He's a good guy. But she. . . not so much. I just stay away from evil and hang around fun people.
Anyway, overall, I had a wonderful weekend. Then came into work Monday morning to the typical first of the month hectic rat-race stuff and ran non-stop all day. Today is just the normal tons-to-do kind of day. I've got most of it down to a science so that customers never complain and I get everything out ON TIME. That's the Capricorn in me, my mother would say. I detest being late for anything. I'm usually never early. But I am rarely late.
I have bowling tonight. That should provide with some goofy blog story for tomorrow. I'm always doing something goofy - like trying to bowl. It should be good for a laugh anyway.

He is sooo cute! I just want to pinch his cheek (why when we get older does that compulsion come out?) Sounds like you had a nice relaxing weekend. Is it Friday yet BTW? Damned it isn't LOL. I have been promising Bruce (What a Journey) that I will pull out my old Boy Scout pictures, including me in uniform walking a rope bridge. Can you imagine? Those old pictures are so fun. So the gf cooked. I'm glad you liked it and didn't get sick or anything. Can you imagine what type of hill she would have to climb if you did? My son's gf lives in Baltimore so I may never get to meet her. He flys back up this month to see her. Oh well, at least he has a gf.
Been working on a project for King Tom's mom, gathering up all the tributes to him. I'm going to print and send to Tom's address. Been taking longer than I thought (of course, what project doesn't).
Smile!
